Village School and large rubbish skip

This is the village school, its right next to the church.
It was opened in 1840 although the record of its teachers only goes back to 1845. A lot of the local people went to this school , as did their parents and grandparents and now their own children. It is the beating heart of the village.
It recently celebrated its 180 anniversary by the pupils researching its history and producing a booklet telling the schools story.
In 2018 the kids researched the effect of World War 1 on the village  and what happened to individual villagers, some of their descendants are still living here.  They produced a book that was distributed to every home in the village and also took part in a performance in the local theatre telling individuals stories.
In recent years the school has been run by multi- academy trust whose web site states "We will ensure that each of our academies maintains its unique identities at the heart of their communities "
At the end of the summer term, after 185 years, they closed the school.
