Acorns

Are they early?  I'm no botanist but it feels like things are ripening earlier this year, with all the sun and warmth.  It's been an odd summer - not in a bad way - just feels a bit different.  Maybe it's because the summer drifted in as the exams finished for my son.  The days of frenzied activity of school fetes, end of term assemblies and thank you cards for teachers are behind us now.  I still feel a sense of freedom while school's out, even with older children.  I wouldn't mind another six weeks!
