Sumi & Mariano
(17/8/25)
Well. After my evening yesterday, I was glad I woke ready to tackle a few chores which I didn't get to last night. The biggest was a pile of ironing, then packing to leave for a few days. I got it done and was soon off, stopping in Guildford to drop off the desk, fill the car and then dropped it off at Heathrow. All went smoothly there.
I then got a shuttle to Terminal 3 and got on the Elizabeth Line to Central London. I've been wanting to ride on this line, so this is a thing ticked off my list. :)) The changes to Victoria were fine, and I (finally) arrived at Bromley South around 5:30. Eileen came to the station to meet me.
We weren't home too long before getting in the car to head to the British Legion at Pett's Wood. It is Sumi's birthday today, and Eileen wanted to support her. None of us had been to a British Legion Club before, so it was an experience! The drinks are cheap, and the patrons are friendly and enjoy a good night out. Sumi & Mariano kept us well entertained. I thought their sound was better tonight. They certainly got a lot of support with people dancing and even singing a few songs!
Sadly, the kitchen closes at 2 PM, and we got caught short without eating before we got there. Nothing could ruin a happy evening with great retro music and dancing, though. We left intending to carry on the party in the car, but my phone wouldn't connect with the Bluetooth. :(
A long and tiring day, so it was straight to bed for me.
