There are far fewer wild flowers now although there is still plenty of Common knapweed or Hardhead (Centaurea nigra) providing food for insects and butterflies. These flowers would have shown up better last week against the golden wheat before a tractor in the distance was raking the stubble and the wind was making it hard to get them in focus
