We began hunting for a new sofa in Chester this afternoon and both of us were amazed at just how bluddy MASSIVE most of them are these days. It also feels like all shops selling them seem to think their potential new customers want a corner one, or a reclining one, or one with a ‘deluxe central console’ featuring old-style usb charging sockets and metal cup holders (that resemble pet-food bowls).

We quite liked this one, but it was too big.
