‘Home’ again

Went swimming this morning (the water temp is 17C) which was lovely and everyone had that ‘relaxed summer not wanting to go anywhere’ vibe. (Although I was kind of anxious to phone the hospital and find out how mom was).
When I got home and called they said she had had a good night and asked if the doctor or nurse had called me and that she was sure they would soon and that mom was going to be staying in. I pleaded not to go into war 10 and that she needed to get back home.
I was then really anxious just to get in.
So I arrived about 2pm. Spoke with the nurse said she needs to be home. The doctor (different again) came to see me. She said that she’d give more antibiotics and then home. Again I pleaded that she didn’t go into a ward. She listened and then said she could be discharged from there and if it were possible she would see if she could be discharged today!
After a while someone came and announced to mom that she was moving to ward 16! I asked him to check because I’d just spoken to the doc and she had agreed that she would stay here till discharge. The sister came and asked me. I repeated. She went off then came back and apologised for the miscommunication and that the doctor was working on discharge today.
She came back a little later and said that discharge had been set and that transport would be there in 20 mins.
And they were spot on.
I beat the ambulance over the road and waited for them and guided them into mom’s room.
And she was back.
And it looked so good seeing her there with her things.
After a little nap, mom requested to watch ‘Songs of Praise’. So we did. :) And a second one. Then country file.
She wanted to sit out of bed for a bit. So we did that. She sat in her chair for about 30mins.
Then it was bed time.

Stopped by to have a chat with Stewart then picked up a Chinese takeout on the way home.

It pays to just sit in the hospital to be a voice.
And it’s so so much better when people actually listen to you.

Oh! And there are at least three baby fish in my aquarium! :D. And they look big enough not to be eaten now. :D. But of course it means I can’t clean the tank now! - Good excuse! :P
