We’ve been spotted …

The elephant hawk moth caterpillar deters predators by swelling its front end, giving the impression of a much larger creature.
The ‘eye spots’ which are not eyes help create the illusion.
They feed on Rosebay Willow Herb and Himalayan Balsam of which there is an abundance at Etherow Country Park.
