Books and fire

I have some books requested from the library, and wouldn't you know, two of them became available within 2 days this week. A third one became available on Kindle the next day, but I was able to postpone that one for two weeks. 

There Are Rivers in the Sky is an interesting book with multiple timelines addressing Mesopotamian relics and the story of Gilgamesh, among many other threads. I wasn't sure I'd like it, but it is absorbing. My book club picked this one. 

An Assembly Such as This tells the story of Pride and Prejudice from the view of Mr. Darcy, kind of explaining why he acted the way he did.  I'm not too far into it, but it has been good thus far. 

Extra: It may look like clouds on the mountain, but it is smoke from a wildfire just beyond, in a canyon on the south side of town. They are working on it and helicopters and airplanes are dumping water on it.  I hope they are able to get it under control soon.
