Lemongrass

Good Chinese supermarkets in France are rare as hens' teeth but there is a prawn cracker of a good one just down the road from Ikea in Montpellier. With my new office flat-packed weightily in the back of the car we scooted off to the emporium to fill up all the remaining nooks and crannies with bottles of fish sauce, papaya and coriander, noodles, coconut milk, litres of proper soy sauce and a large bag of lemongrass. So large was the bag we realised it would outlive it's sell-by date by many, many moons so 5000vines headed for the internet and a nanosecond later discovered we could grow our own just by popping their ends into a vase of water. Unbelievably little roots are sprouting and it seems to be working. Who'd a thought it? I scent a business opportunity.
