Fallen Tree in the River

A pleasant walk through the parkland of Hughenden Valley.  This is an old tree that has fallen into the Hughenden Stream, a tributary of the River Wye.

it is also known as a winterbourne, meaning its flow is dependent on rainfall and can be intermittent, especially in summer months.  I'm surprised that there is any water in it at all.
