Clouded Yellow

The Test Match seemed to be heading for a draw so I went down the road to the National Trust estate at Sheffield Park where the Armadillos play on the famous restored ground where England and Australia first played cricket. There was no cricket to be seen today but in the meadow on the edge of the ground I was rewarded with the sight of half a dozen clouded yellow butterflies which in good years come over from North Africa and can be found on the Downs. In all I counted 18 species of butterfly in less than half an hour.
