Mono Monday 604 :: MM604 :: Minimalism

Compared to the ruins of the 11th-century Rievaulx Abbey the visitors centre is definitely in the category of minimalism.


There are huge picture windows overlooking the abbey but along the sides slit windows  brake up the length of the walls. The painted white roof and rafters form a pattern but blends into the background. 


This is a regular place for us to visit but the drizzle kept us in the cafe... ;o)
