Day 230. A parched estate.
This is Broadlands, just outside Romsey. Just how dry the land is can be clearly seen.
The River Test runs along in front of the house. In 1767, a major architectural "transformation" of the house and garden was begun by Capability Brown, the celebrated architect and landscape designer. Supposedly Capability Brown did not like where the river originally was, so moved it to be a more pleasing view from the house.
