Broken heat

Yesterday must have been the apex of the heatwave.  The skies were veiled with smoke from the wild fires in Spain and Portugal and along with the oppressive temperatures here this corner of Europe felt apocalyptic. 

Today temperatures fell to a sedate 25°, bringing the air down to the same heat as the ocean.  

Bernie fetched sticks from the waves, we ate moules frites and fell asleep on the beach under cloudy skies.
