Nicky and her Nikon

A big blue sky kind of day

Luke only goes back to the UK tomorrow but is working here this week. He works long hours, 7am to 7pm, (he has to be at work when the financial markets open at 7am). However with the one hour time difference it means he has a bit of a breather before work starts so what is the best thing to do with that extra time but play golf! So we had a golf booking this morning for 6.45am. We can finish 9 holes very quickly at that time with no one else playing and using carts.

It was very cool at that time of morning, we are definitely feeling the early autumn air already. The golf course was also very wet with dew so the ball often got snagged up in wet grass, and at that time of morning I was still inflexible and sore from my fall off the bike. So in other words I did not have my best round! We got back home just after 8am and had breakfast, but Luke went straight 'to work'.

I pottered around after that, I was feeling a bit sore but later we went for a short walk. By now it was very hot, with endless blue skies. I find blue skies so uplifting and we have to enjoy them while we can before we get back into a grey British winter.

I went to the doctor this afternoon - she pressed and prodded and there was no obvious sign of an injury, she said I am just very bruised from the fall and after I checked with  Dr Google and it probably is a pelvic contusion which is simply a bruised pelvic bone. The pain is getting better each day which is a good thing although it still hurts when walking, particularly uphill. If it has not improved after another week she recommended I have a CT scan but I don't think that will be necessary. My old bones are just taking time to heal after bouncing off the concrete!

Xena also went to the vet for her pre-travel vet check and passport stamp as is required by Defra rules.
