The Festival Comes to Town
Today saw a rehearsed reading of "And Midnight Never Come" by Val McDermid at the theatre - its a joint production with the Book Festival where a similar event will take place tomorrow. The playwright as in attendance as was the Artistic Director.
It is about the death of Christopher Marlow, about whom I confess to knowing very little but have come away wanting to find out more. I really enjoyed it - the story was well told and it was a real treat to be so close to the actors as they read (and acted) through the play. I wonder if it will form part of the season next year ?
In a curious twist of fate for the second day in a row we were watching a production which featured a character called Walsingham, this time Thomas, a younger relative to yesterday's Spymaster.
I made a determined effort this morning (i.e. I set my alarm) to get down to the loch for the 8.15 Dawn Dippers swim. I am *so* glad I did - it was a beautiful morning for it.
