Roses at the door
It was cool and drizzly this morning so we got a lot done in the house this morning while the conservatory man came to redo the window sills.
In the afternoon I walked 2.5 miles over the valley (I’d forgotten how steep Garleigh Road was!) to pick up a book from Pat, her choice for book group. I’m looking forward to it - “Findings ” by Kathleen Jamie. I called on Chris to see her before she’s off to Denmark - it was good to catch up. We picked some apples together and she gave me some which I stewed in the microwave when I got home.
#2 daughter and family arrived safely home off the boat this morning. I bet James was happy to be reunited with Sandy their lurcher. #3 daughter was actually persuaded by Ella and Nathaniel onto some scary rides at Disney world/land/whatever it’s called. Tomorrow they’ll go to Paris to sightsee. Mr C tells me we drove 1700 miles.
This rose by the front door is not David Austin so does not appeal to the deer. They only like expensive roses.
