Off on a bit of a reccy..............
This morning Ann had just stepped out of the shower when her phone went ping and she had a Whatsapp message from her 'Dippers & Swimmers' group asking if anyone was going near Porthmeor Beach, and if so, could they check out the sea conditions.
The 'Dippers & Swimmers' and 'Swimmers Galore' in St Ives usually go swimming at Porthminister Beach at 9am on a Monday morning. Ann never goes swimming on a Monday because she works at 10.30am and hasn't got enough time to swim, get home, have a shower and go to work.
Anyway, she does have enough time to walk me and check out the swimming conditions for the group. It has been mega windy in St Ives for the last three days so all the beaches, apart from Porthmeor Beach (which is normally the one with the biggest waves) were far too choppy to swim in.
I did my normal trek around the beaches and town and Ann updated her swimming groups re the conditions. It was lovely & calm on Porthmeor Beach but everywhere else was just ridiculously choppy. It would have been madness to go into the sea anywhere other than Porthmeor Beach.
This is a photo of me at Porthgwidden Beach where Ann usually swims. Just look at the size of these waves?
….................And then Ann went to work and the town was ridiculously busy cos it was far too windy for anyone to sit on the beach, it wasn't really that busy in the club. She made a few toasties, etc and then came home and took me out again.
The wind has dropped now but our weather app is showing rain tomorrow. Boohooooo.......
