Plums from marvellous Margaret

I first met botanist Margaret here. Since then, I’ve kept in touch via email and have popped in to see her a couple of times. A couple of other times (like yesterday!), she was out and about. At 99 and three quarters, she has a pretty active agenda, including still leading flower walks.

Today, I managed to find her in and enjoyed a lovely catch up with her. She’d been a tour guide to two Lords on two separate occasions since I saw her last so it was fun to hear the stories of her encounters. She’d been out collecting home-grown vegetables and plums from her orchard when I arrived so she sent me on my way with a little bag full of the latter and a hug.
