Old Man o Stoer

Poor weather this morning, dull, damp and misty in the east, headed west to glorious sunshine and 25⁰c highs.  Back to a dull and damp east evening.

With the dull morning, plans changed and chased the sun on the west.  We headed to Lochinver, with various small stops along the way, including Allt Nan Uamh waterfall, stunning.  Loved the drive and scenery to Stoer, stunning place and a good hike.  Slight detour for a fish supper on our way home, fantastic food from The Chippy, Ullapool.  Back to the house, feet up for the night.  Saw a few deer today, no photos.  Oh and yesterday, I saw my first ever male Adder in Rogart, forgot to mention that.

Spotted a potential hike on Google maps, it turn out it was worth it.  Left from the lighthouse car park, over the hills and cliffs, then arrived at the old sea-stack.  He is impressive in his own rights, although having hiked to the Old Man o Hoy (Orkney), this old man is more of a boy, only standing at 60m.  I assume the wire below is for aiding climbers, also ropes at the top.  I was about to head back, when this boat steamed by, what a sight it must be from the sea too.  The Old Man o Stoer, West Coast Highlands.
