What a location!
Yesterday was of our flat in Cumbria, today is of the home of a former colleague from my days at Wrotham School in the 1980s.
You may recall that in April we went to the memorial service for a colleague who taught at the school. The idea for a reunion came from that event and today was the culmination of planning to bring together as many of the staff from that decade at a picnic in the garden.
A lovely event, great conversation, picking up after so many decades. We’re hoping to do it again in the near future. And for once, there was very little discussion about medical ailments brought about by our advancing years.
Before all the pleasure there was the simple matter of picking up all the hundreds of windfalls from our apple tree, bagging them and taking them to the tip. I treated the car to a wash and brush up afterwards.
We still await news from Cockermouth. And there’s a little hiccup over the sale of our house to deal with over the next few days.
