Barley Field
We ate breakfast with Lis and Paco and then they headed off to the shops to stock up before driving a short way north to their summer home in Bolstabruk.
We decided to take a walk, doing one of our longer circular walks, about 8 kms, mostly through varying types of forest, and including a couple of hefty uphill sections.
I blipped a huge beaver dam, as an extra, on 5th May. Our walk today went past that dam and they have added new height to the dam, flooding even more land in the area above the dam.
We noticed new areas of felled forest. Because Russian timber isn't available (sanctions) Scandinavian timber is in great demand and farmers are getting a very good price for their forest.
The walk ended with a new variation. Instead of following our usual path to a road we took this tractor path through a field of barley. It looks like the farmer could get a good harvest this year.
