Good vs Evil

Another day, another country. We had a mid morning pickup from the hotel for our flights from Cartagena to Bogota and then on to Quito. A nice leisurely start that all became a bit confusing at the airport when they decided Himself needed a medical 'fit to fly' certificate. He does look as if he's gone a few rounds with Mohammed Ali. They had already printed our boarding cards and we'd waved our luggage off but they then took us to 'sanitos' where we were asked a few questions and presented with said document. All good.

The flight was slightly late leaving so it was a bit of a mad dash to the next gate. The information boards already had the gate as closed but they would rather let us through late than have the hassle of unloading our unaccompanied luggage, so we boarded. At Quito our guide picked us up at the airport and dropped us safely at our hotel.

This was the only photo I took tonight. It's a statue outside the park opposite our hotel. Wikipedia tells me it's The Eternal Struggle, by Emile Peynot. It was a minor struggle getting the photo as it's fenced off for reasons currently unknown.
