Adding the aubergines

The market was slightly less busy this morning. Now that the mid August bank holiday has passed, more people will be heading back home. The air was noticeably fresher which was very welcome. The usual six pans were bubbling away, but this was by far the most colourful. It looks like the choice in the adjacent pans is fried mushrooms or stuffed squid or cuttlefish in a sauce. There will also be the obligatory paella and boles de picolat. I returned home to do some admin. There were no takers for French conversation so I spent a quiet afternoon napping after a poor night’s sleep and reading my book. There is no meal to prepare as we are joining friends at a local restaurant to celebrate a 70th birthday.
