Athena standing up to autocracy in the White House

Reporter Marcia Luyten wrote the above quoted words and more in Dutch newspaper Volkskrant and I agree with the following she added too:

" With anger, not policy jargon, democrats can defeat future tyrants.
Just as Ursula von der Leyen leads the mission, I prefer to see militant democracy, like Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom and martial arts. She protects the polis, the city-state: the public domain and the rule of law. She fights, not to rule, but to grant freedom.

It is hopeful that Athena is standing up to autocracy in the White House, although the battle for freedom is ultimately won closer to the people: in the streets, and increasingly behind the screen".

Of course I have a photo of the goddess Athina, one of the Dodeka Theoi (12 gods of Greek Mythology), just had to retrieve it from my files for this entry; this bronze statue can be found in the Archeological Museum of Pireos.
I love the idea that Ursula von der Leyen, president of the European Commission, is seen as this militant goddess!

Thank you all for your reactions of recent! Much appreciated!
