Enterkin Pass

A warm day so we decided to test out my new rucksack Mum got me as an early birthday present. Headed up to East Mount Lowther then on past the trig point and down towards the great named Deadmans Slack. At the start of the climb back up someone had kindly set up a picnic table, so after a shared oatcake lunch we started the climb back up. This used to be the main road from Upper Nithsdale to Edinburgh. Story goes a group of Covenanters were being taken to the city and the soldiers were attacked from above allowing the Covenanters to escape. Supposedly they still haunt the pass so I wasn't going to be too slow going home. Last time I walked down when I was ten a fair few years ago.
