Gently down the stream

Essex Skipper

We've had a lot of lovely sun today, though the day began and is ending grey.  I went out on another local and pretty short walk at lunchtime and was very happy to come back with a shot of this skipper feeding from a thistle flower.  And no, it's not another small skipper.  As soon as I saw it on the screen I realised it's an Essex Skipper (the black ends on it's antennae are the giveaway).  So all very pleasing.

The less lovely part of my day was cleaning the bathroom.  It was really shocking to see how much grime has sneaked into small corners - grime I'd never noticed until this cataract business.  Oh, dear!  Never mind, we can never have too much to do, can we..  ;-/

Now I must go and get out the eyedrops.  Take care and have a good evening   xx
