Poppies

This is a plate that hung on the wall in Mair’s bungalow. I’ve always loved it, so when it wasn’t going to be taken to her new apartment, I quickly volunteered to give it a home. There are even fewer possessions now in her room in the residential home; she wants little, hating clutter, but a photo of Lili is in pride of place! 

G’s brother and SIL however, have just made her a memory book full of photos from her childhood, her children and grandchildren, and this is a great hit - particularly the photos of her childhood and her parents. The detail she remembers is amazing - though she showed no recognition of her grandchildren when they were little. I’m so pleased they’ve done this as it seems to be a great comfort to her and we’re sure it will start many conversations when we visit. 

So - catheter change today (nurse failed, doctor called for: success); tea with a friend, and an attempt to work on Simon and Lloyd’s wedding album which in reality can really wait until we return from holiday!
