On my walk.

I saw lots of these deformed acorns on several oak trees today. At first I thought they were oak apples but when I looked them up I found they were Knopper Galls. These are abnormal growths on the acorn triggered by the larvae of a specific gall wasp which looks like a tiny, black fly. Always good to learn something new and I’d never heard of them before
