Fly Off!
I've photographed mate refusal a couple of times before in orange tip butterflies. This is the first time I've captured it between small whites. The female adopts a posture with her abdomen up and her genitalia extruded with wings open and angled downwards, making it impossible for the male to mate. It's a signal that she has already mated. She's on a fleabane bloom.
The buzzard was mewing loudly and surprisingly, was being harried by a swallow. Reynard has pinched another dog toy. A pellucid hoverfly was enjoying ragwort flowers in the front garden.
The Countax ride-on mower has been repaired and returned today at last. :)
