Clapham Junction

A deserted Platform 9, the train to Weymouth had just departed and I was waiting for the following train to my destination.  Having just arrived from Oxted I had a while to wait in the heat after nearly getting stuck in the lift!  Fortunately five or six of us and a pram and a heavy piece of luggage did eventually reach the top and we were able to get out onto the bridge over all the platforms.    The journey was uneventful and the carriage just about empty all the way; the air-conditioning was working this time and it was in fact on the chilly side but greatly appreciated after the oppressive heat we had been suffering in Kent.
