Cows

Another really lovely day, and a good day to get the washing machine on. I have a sore /stiff back, hopefully nothing serious, and a sore neck which hasn’t sorted itself. I decided a wee walk was in order to test both out.

Both were fine, so I rushed a run, about 4.5 miles. It was too hot to run, so it was hard, and I struggled in the heat. I was glad to get home.

After lunch TT and I went for a walk, he suggested the Garleton Hills. We headed up the hill and along the track, then entered the field at the top of the hill. TT assured me there were no cows in it. I didn’t believe him, as there was certainly evidence of cows. We kept going, and still didn’t see any cows. However as we got to the top of the hill we could hear them. We could also hear some kind of a vehicle, maybe a quad bike. My eyes were firmly on the gate ahead, which goes out to the track. I was striding out, when I looked to the left and could see a guy in a quad bike herding them up, and directing them towards us. We got through the gate with about thirty seconds to spare. It was like a stampede, there were so many of them, cows and calves.

There were being directed through an adjacent gate, which took them to a field on the side of the hill. We stood and watched them on the other side of the fence, totally relieved that we got through the gate when we did. TT estimated that there must have been around 200 animals. My worst nightmare!!

The rest of our walk was stress free! We picked up provisions for tea, which TT cooked.

BB was mostly nursing a hangover today. After tea I took him out for some fresh air.

This shows a few of the cows.
