BC Berries

A nice selection on offer at the grocery store today. I didn't buy any. We have lots of blueberries bought when they were on sale and I froze them. Blackberries are ripening, so I'll be picking some of those for the freezer too. Tempted by the strawberries, but we already have stone fruit and lots of our figs.
Another section of the road is now being worked on, scheduled to be finished by April 2026. 20 minute waits are predicted. There's a lake beside the main road, and the creek that runs out from the lake goes under the road in culverts.
"In November 2021 an atmospheric river event resulted in the roadway flooding at this location, fully closing the road for several days and washing out the road shoulder. The existing culverts are undersized and fatigued. Another significant weather event may result in a complete failure of the road.
The project will:
Construct a new two-lane, single span bridge over Cusheon Creek utilizing pre-cast concrete girders and supported on a piled foundation with pile caps
    - Removal of existing culverts and the surrounding fill material
    - Construction of a stream channel within the footprint of the removed                 culverts
Revegetation Planting within riparian areas with post-construction monitoring" (info from Government of BC website)
