Golden Years
On This Day In History
1945: 17-year-old Tommy Brown becomes the youngest player in the M.L.B. to score a home run
Quote Of The Day
"I didn't have a childhood. The kids would go to Coney Island, swimming and everything, but I couldn't. Being twelve years old, working on the docks and playing street ball, I didn't have much time. That's the only thing I missed was being a kid."
(Tommy Brown)
Tomorrow sees the start of the semi-finals of the Summer High School Baseball Tournament at Koshien Stadium. Some extremely hard working young boys will be creating some of the happiest memories of their lives, that's for certain.
Something wonderful to look back on later in life.
