Book Week.
The Book Week parade was due to start at 9am in the school hall.
I got there about 10 minutes before the start, thinking I'll just stand at the side of the room.
But this year they'd put chairs all around the room so there was nowhere to stand.
A group of us decided to wait until all the children had entered the hall and then we'd just go and sit on the floor.
Whilst I was waiting Mia suddenly came flying up to me, then her friend Izzy joined her, so I managed to get a couple of photos of them.
They were both full of smiles and very excited. They are both dressed as Wednesday from The Addam's Family.
Each class paraded around the room and then walked down the middle on a catwalk.
I nearly cried when I saw Isabella she was the only one in her class if not her year that hadn't dressed up.
She looked embarrassed and miserable. I think she realized she'd made a terrible mistake in deciding not to go in costume.
When she thought her Mum was going to be organizing her costume and getting her ready for the parade, she had quite happily planned out what she wanted to be.
But when she found out her Dad wouldn't let her come to our house to stay the night before the parade, she suddenly didn't want to be anything.
After the parade I stayed and managed to give Mia a big hug and caught up with Isabella, but she didn't really want to say anything or even look at me.
I think she may have been disappointed that her Dad and his parents had already left.
I then went to the chemist to pick up a prescription and then over to the craft shop.
On the way into the craft shop I passed Peter and his parents sitting in a cafe. Peter looked really depressed and fed up.
I'm just hoping he feels guilty about not persuading Isabella to change her mind.
