Jim 1929-2025. RIP

I was in Perth this morning at the funeral service for Sandy’s big brother Jim who died a fortnight ago aged 96. It was held in the Monastery on Kinnoul Hill which meant getting there without a car was tricky. The interment in Scone Cemetery and the refreshments at Murrayshall Hotel in Scone made it a whole lot trickier. In the end my son-in-law offered to drive me to the Monastery for the service and I omitted the rest.
 I hadn’t seen Jim’s extended family in the flesh since Sandy’s funeral almost 7 years ago so I had only limited time for a catch up. 
My niece felt obliged to tell me that I am now the last person of that generation still standing on her side of the family- a sobering thought, although I still have my sister- in-law to keep me company on my own side.
