San Sebastián and a Gilda

Top Temperature: 26.8 °C

I took the bus to the beautiful seaside resort of San Sebastián and enjoyed a leisurely walk along La Concha Bay, finishing at Eduardo Chillida’s El Peine del Viento. The weather was glorious, and a tinto de verano on the terrace of a tennis club called Wimbledon was very welcome in the heat. Before catching the return bus, I tried my first Gilda pintxo — a combination of olive, anchovy and pickled chilli — named after the 1946 Rita Hayworth film and every bit as bold and spicy.
