Steppleknoll
Another long walk today, twelve miles starting in Clun (famously 'one of the quietest places under the sun' according to A. H. Housman). Today it was under thick cloud but still eerily silent. From Clun we climbed up to Bury Ditches, then onto Clunton Hill and Sowdley Wood. My blip today is from Clunton Hill, looking back across the parched Clun valley towards Steppleknoll and Radnor Wood. The colour of the trees shows that Autumn is rushing towards us. We passed through Walcot wood en route and saw masses of blackberries so may return there tomorrow equipped with bags for collecting.
