Spotted

Down in the forest the spotted flycatcher brood were fortuitously for me right by the carpark and I only had to walk a few steps thankfully.

They are tiny and delicate and I love the way they zip out and contort themselves in their fly-catching mode. Tricky to catch as they are quick and then more often than not speedily head to the cover of the surrounding vegetation. Just occasionally they might appear briefly on an exposed branch or twig - quite Exposed in Extra.

A perfect habitat for them to come to from Africa and where they will return to  shortly no doubt. They nest in tree trunks, on branches against climbing plants so the forest is a great place for them to breed.
