Baking

Look carefully and you can see the croissants being made at Company Bakery in Musselburgh. It was Take Your Mum to Work Day. I set my alarm for 6.20 but was woken before that by lovely Otter. We were all on our way to the bakery 20 minutes later.

Luke had a meeting so I took Otter for a walk. He wasn’t supposed to go in the river but on our way back, he ran ahead and snuck in :-) I sat in the cafe before it opened and Luke brought me a coffee and a vegan cinnamon bun. He knows what I like. From the cafe you can see into the bakery - I also had a wee backstage tour before leaving to get the train back to Edinburgh and then home.

Soon after I arrived home, D and Joe left to drive down to Merseyside to see my father in law, who is very ill in hospital. They just did a video call from his room and he was able to see me and Jess and give us a wave.

It’s strange to be in the house without D - a rare occurrence. I’ve taken Jess down to the Routin Brig and it will soon be time for both of us to go to bed.
