The Future is Now (But the Labels Won't Stick)
It’s been a hectic day. We really left it late to sort out our travel vaccinations but, on Monday, after what felt like an endless hunt through the NHS website for a buried form, the surgery called. I was amazed when they gave me an appointment within 48 hours, which is why I went in this morning to get the jabs. Even then, I still had to source some privately and, hopefully, I’ll get the last one tomorrow. I had no idea Superdrug ran travel clinics!
This evening, I opened the fridge to see what fresh ingredients needed using up. I read the items out loud to one of the AI chatbots on my phone. Within seconds, it had suggested a recipe that was not only tasty but also stopped food going to waste. We really are living in the future, aren’t we? “Hey Siri, where are my jet-boots?”
And the leftovers? They went straight in the freezer. It’s just a shame I can’t get the labels to stick to the plastic containers I use. Perhaps we’re not quite in the future after all.
