Wild Wednesday ...

... rainy day Wednesday.

As it was supposed to be raining by this afternoon we got out early for our walk at Housenick Memorial park.  We took a slightly longer path than normal ... which was nice.  It was quite cool and there was a light mist in the air at that time. 

But nothing like later in the day ... it poured down rain for most of the afternoon and is still rather damp out as I type this up.  

This Northern Cardinal might not look healthy to you but he only in his seasonal molt.  They will lose a lot of their feathers this time of year ... and look rather unsightly while this is happening.  And this unsightliness is only enhanced by him also being soaking wet! But I still love these beautiful birds ... no feathers and all!
