TJs
A Liverpool icon I pass on my journey to work: TJ Hughes. In it's day, it was a huge department store spanning several shop fronts and sold everything in that grand way that department stores did. Apparently it was THE place to go for Christmas decorations.
Since I've known it, it's gone from ailing shop on it's last legs to a very long closing down sale to this... basically (borrowing words from UltraFloop) just a "frontispiece". All that remains is the original facade - everything else is gone - even the ground floor walls! I had fun playing a bit with the colour on this one to give it the proper haunted-house treatment.
This is my entry for this week's derelict challenge #DS468 - thanks to Marlieske for hosting. By the looks of things it is now going to be renovated into a non-derelict state...but we shall see!
