Juvenile Goldfinches
This morning I took the camera up to the butterfly reserve. I went to the pond, wondering about having another shot at dragonflies but saw none. Instead there was a family of 5 juvenile goldfinches sitting in a hawthorn bush next to the water. This is one of them. There's another shot in extras showing three of them - really more fun but the quality is even less good than the one here. That darn sun was in the wrong place!!
I'm well aware I should be giving out wildflower hearts tonight, but I'm afraid I'm leaving that until tomorrow. I was woken this morning by one of my nephews ringing to tell me that his father died last night. My brother was a fair bit younger than me and it wasn't expected. It's been a huge shock, so giving myself a little extra headspace seems like a good idea.
Have a good evening, all xx
