How does your garden grow?
It's been a busy day - first thing this morning I made an appointment with the consultant about my pelvis/hip/whatever is causing the problem and the first appointment I can get is 3 September which is not too long to wait.
Then the usual post holiday chores of attending to admin that resulted from opening the post, buying groceries, and then off to the hairdresser - after 6 weeks in the sun my hair was looking dreadful, very bleached and looking yellow.
I also spent a while transferring my images from my Mac laptop to my desktop PC, and sorting the images in the relevant folders. During our time in Switzerland I took 1318 photos and there is not one I can use for my camera club competitions. As unbelievable as that sounds, pretty scenery and chocolate box images are not what makes a good photo, but I knew that and it doesn't stop me taking pretty photos for my own pleasure.
I started doing a bit of packing, we have to pack lightly with soft bags as there is not much space on a yacht - although this time it's a catamaran as opposed to a mono hull (a true sailor would balk at that, it took Gavin a fair amount of convincing to not charter a mono hull!) so hopefully it may be a bit roomier. Gavin is qualified for ocean going sailing, but I encouraged him to hire a skipper for this trip as from past experience it is extremely stressful every afternoon as you rush into a marina and try to find a berth, and then moor the boat when the marina is already so full. We have had some hairy escapades in the past and I feel Gavin does not need that stress so he can now just relax and let someone else worry about it. So today Gavin had a zoom call with the skipper to discuss the sailing route and other relevant matters.
Later I took Xena for a walk - after checking the flowers in the garden with her - and I really struggled and was in a fair amount of pain when I got home again. Now that I have been sitting again it is much better. I am very concerned about getting on and off the boat....I cannot put all my weight on one leg it is just too painful, so stepping up something high is not easy.
Tomorrow, Adam and Anna arrive! We are looking forward to seeing them again.
