Wildlife hide
Left site having had an early walk along the lane and hubby picking blackberries, or brambles as we call them. Visit to Threave gardens very good, as always. Popped along to the wildlife hide as last time we were there it was closed so we wanted to see if the red squirrel were back, no sign of any. Lots of birds including tree creeper, but the cutest wildlife was the mouse hiding close to the pond.
We then had a walk to Threave castle, closed at the moment, to see the osprey and had a great sighting of the young one siting
at the top of a tree. Also plenty of Red Kite.
Then off to Kirkcudbright and a walk round Broughton house gardens, small and very pretty.
We are staying on an aire tonight, ran by the local swimming pool, very flat, plenty of space in marked bays and great view of hills and boats on river.
Plenty of walking today so hubby’s much improved.
