Trees

Without warning and amid a heavy police presence the city of Antwerp started felling 62 trees in Deurne Monday morning at 8 o clock.
Since that moment the protesting neighbourhood - angry and in grief - tried to stop the works. Many joined the daily protests, so did I today.

The city and transport operator De Lijn have begun cutting down the trees for a new tram loop, a plan heavily contested and described as useless and passé. But maybe the most shocking was the way the (anti terror) police behaved and the ‘Trumpian’ style of governance.
