Professional Princess

Dear O'H dear and Lovely Tea Jenny,

Day One of pretend professionalism. I put on smart clothes and shiny shoes, went through the back of the wardrobe and re-entered the world of finance*.

My day started with an induction where we checked out laptops were working and had to set up a new password.

I was a bit worried that I’d get chucked out for falling at the first hurdle as it took me about 4 attempts. Mainly because the initial password was over 20 characters (I was cursing the service desk).

Then I went off to meet the team who all seem lovely. It’s early days but there’s a nice vibe. I know a few people in the team already which makes it feel less daunting and the dude who’s mentoring me for the first couple of weeks is super helpful and pretty chilled.

The rest of the day was spent doing 4 million company online training courses. I am fully up to speed on data protection. Tomorrow I have ‘health and safety’ and ‘sexual harassment in the workplace’. I am assuming those courses are not related!

*Admittedly that would have made a pretty sh1t book. Aslan would have been the CEO with a slicked back mane and a constantly ringing mobile phone.
