Meet William with his operator
These two really made me smile on my way to see Richard this afternoon. William was the little mannikin, made by the man who operated him with his knee! The man played a jig on a pipe and William danced creating a tapping sound to accompany the music! It was a complete delight to watch! After playing the pipe he then took out some border pipes, a small cousin of the bag pipes and began playing that with William dancing along! They were receiving lots of tributes from passers by.
Richard was in bed when I got there and told me I could go. I said I needed to rest for a while as I had to walk uphill from the bus stop and I had brought him some strawberries! He waited for a while then asked if I had chocolate and I said no just strawberries so he accepted those and I took one before he demolished the rest! He now has a beautiful room in the nursing home but he does not appear to notice it! I did notice that someone had taken in the service sheet from the VJ service last Friday which looked like a very good event! I assume Richard would have read it as he spent some time in the far east! I was very happy to have been in and really enjoyed the walk back to the bus!
The bus is a good place to read and I picked up a book by Murakami called The Wind-up Bird. Chronicle, which seems to be a Japanese takes of the Arabian nights! Good distinct short chapters and very odd!
