New Use

I spent the morning trying to tame the large shrub between my and my neighbour's garden. It does look better, but still needs a bit of work. My neighbour made me a coffee and we had a good chat as well, including about how the area has changed.

Some of the major developments are around the redevelopment of land, mainly owned by the MOD, into large huge housing estates. One such estate is Buckler's Forest being built on the old TRL (Transport Research Laboratory). Most of their work is now done online, so this site is no longer needed. A good part of the site is being returned to nature. I last visited over 2 years ago. Today the house building is largely complete and there are now cafés and shops.

Dotted around the site as green metal cabinets left over from research activities. This one has been converted into a bug hotel, which gives me my unexpected Abstract Thursday image. One even has a mini museum in it giving some interesting information about the site from a royal hunting forest through research establishment back to forest.
